Yves Claps Back At “Fan” Criticizing Her Outfit For An Unexpected Reason

“I thought it was going to be something revealing like-“

You would think that most interactions between K-Pop idols and their fans on messaging apps would be wholesome, supportive, or at least positive. And fortunately, there are a lot of conversations between these two parties that go viral for being endearing and heartwarming. However, there are some instances where so-called “fans” use these opportunities to be harsh towards an idol, and recently Yves had such an interaction.

Yves (who is best known as a member of LOONA) received a message from a “fan” who was criticizing an outfit that she had worn. The person had the audacity to say that her outfit wasn’t “something an idol should wear”.

But Yves wasn’t going to take the comment quietly. She stood up for herself in the interaction, questioning what an outfit worn by idols should look like and asking who she was harming in what she had worn.

Fan: That’s not something idols should wear.

Yves: Not something an idol should wear?

Yves: ?

Yves: What is supposed to be an outfit worn by idols?

Yves: I’m an idol… So whatever I wear becomes an idol’s outfit, no? Am I harming someone?

She went on to say that she wasn’t offended, but also threatened to block the user.

Yves: I’m not offended.

Yves: If you refute this, I’ll block you. Bye~

So what was the outfit in question? Was it something super scandalous, or offensive somehow?

Apparently it was the hoodie seen below, which we doubt many people expected.

There was some controversy over whether Yves was too sensitive and shouldn’t have reacted the way she did. But many fans have come to her support, saying that the commenter was out of line and deserved to get clapped back at.

Do you think Yves should have ignored the comment, or was she right in defending herself?
