Wi Ha Joon Can’t Get Over His First Love Jung Ryeo Won In New “Midnight Romance In Hagwon” Teasers

tvN has unveiled character teasers for its upcoming drama “Midnight Romance in Hagwon”!

Helmed by director Ahn Pan Seok of the hit drama “Something in the Rain,” “Midnight Romance in Hagwon” is set against the backdrop of Daechi, a neighborhood known as the epicenter of private education in Korea due to its high concentration of hagwons (private educational institutions).

Jung Ryeo Won will star as Seo Hye Jin (Jung Ryeo Won), a hagwon instructor who tirelessly assists a cheeky student named Lee Joon Ho (Wi Ha Joon) in gaining admission to a prestigious university. 10 years later, Lee Joon Ho unexpectedly returns to the hagwon as a rookie instructor after resigning from a promising job at a large company. There, he is reunited with his unrequited first love Seo Hye Jin.

The first character teaser introduces viewers to star instructor Seo Hye Jin, who expresses her love for her job by saying, “Teaching a bright student: it’s more rewarding than you’d think.”

The instructor then complains about her world being shaken up after the arrival of Lee Joon Ho, who has returned to her hagwon as an adult and fellow teacher. “I didn’t have any problems before,” she says, “but after you came, there’s trouble each and every day.”

Lee Joon Ho goes on to confess his feelings for Seo Hye Jin by revealing, “I’ve never forgotten [you],” to which she responds, “I don’t like unpredictable things. Both when it comes to exam questions and when it comes to relationships.” However, Lee Joon Ho seems undeterred, continuing, “I have to say what needs to be said.”

Finally, Seo Hye Jin’s resolve begins to weaken as she asks, “Is there any way to not like Joon Ho? If there is, please tell me.”

Meanwhile, Lee Joon Ho’s character teaser begins with his return to Seo Hye Jin’s hagwon, where he proudly tells her, “I took the exam.” After he explains how significant a special teacher can be in one’s life, Lee Joon Ho boldly declares, “There’s no way you can’t have noticed. That Lee Joon Ho’s first love was Seo Hye Jin.”

Amidst glimpses of Lee Joon Ho intently pursuing Seo Hye Jin now that he is an adult, his playfulness begins to wear off as he urges her, “Please tell me your true feelings. Then I’ll accept them without complaint.” The teaser ends with him confessing, “I need you.”

“Midnight Romance in Hagwon” will premiere on May 11 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
