EXCLUSIVE: Global talent management company Vision Entertainment is expanding on the production front with the launch of Vision Entertainment Studios, a sister company to be overseen by Matías Ovalle.

In his new role as Head of Development and Production, Ovalle will oversee all aspects of development and production in film and television, both scripted and unscripted content, across multiple regions. The studio will focus on creating high-quality content for both the U.S. and international markets, leveraging Vision Entertainment’s existing network and resources. Explained co-CEO Liam Scholey, “The projects that attract us span multiple languages, continents, media, and genres, which perfectly align with Matías’s sensitivity and track record.”

Before joining Vision Entertainment Studios, Ovalle spent more than eight years as Head of Scripted Content Development and Production at Canal 13, one of Latin America’s largest television networks, where he developed and produced some of the most successful Chilean shows in history. His latest project, Family Secrets, which he executive produced, achieved impressive ratings on both Prime Video and Canal 13, becoming the most-watched project on Amazon in Chile during its broadcast period.

Previously, Ovalle was an executive producer of Chromosome 21, a Netflix drama series that ranked among the Top 10 most-watched shows in 18 countries. Ovalle’s track record also includes producing Sex with Love, one of the highest-grossing films in Chilean history, as well as co-writing and producing Mala Leche, a feature that won the Horizontes Latinos Award at the 52nd edition of the San Sebastián International Film Festival in Spain. In addition, Ovalle has executive produced over 20 television shows.

In a statement on the Vision Entertainment hire, co-CEO Andrés Budnik said, “Matías’s invaluable knowledge, taste in content and unique ability to move seamlessly between genres and territories, both in film and television, make him the right person to lead our studio and will be crucial in positioning us globally for the future in an ever-changing entertainment landscape.”

Stated Ovalle, “Vision’s borderless perspective is focused on promoting the best creative voices and creating content for global audiences. I couldn’t be luckier and more excited to work with such a brilliant and passionate group of people and talent.”

Founded in 2013, Vision Entertainment operates out of Los Angeles, New York, and Mexico City. The company boasts a roster of over 200 sought-after actors, writers, and directors working in the United States and internationally.
