She was a vulnerable young artist.
Veteran singer Gilgun recently talked about being pressured into giving sexual favors while she was a rookie in the industry.
On September 29, KST, the singer appeared on the YouTube channel Namu Miki Detective Agency and shared the bewildering story. Gilgun mentioned that her sole condition for signing with an agency was that she wouldn’t indulge in sexual solicitation. Comedian Park Kwang Soo, who was also in the video, asked if she had ever witnessed other people around her who said yes to such offers.
Gilgun then recounted a scary incident from her early days in the industry when a senior, who she referred to as “unnie,” tried to get her to accept a request for sexual favors. She was called to a bar by the senior out of the blue, and upon arriving, she realized the atmosphere was fishy.
“They called me to a bar or something. At the time, I was wearing short workout pants and messy hair. I was carrying this big bag and went in, but I was the only one looking like that. Everyone else was dressed up. When I asked, ‘Why did you call me here? I don’t understand why you’d call me here,’ they replied, ‘Gun, we just wanted to see your face.’ But I suddenly realized there were old men next to me.”

Sensing that something was odd, Gilgun left the place immediately, telling her senior that she felt uncomfortable. But then the singer received a phone call from her, explaining what she wanted her to do.
“When I first heard it, I cried. I was scared. I think, I was too young then and it was my first time hearing something like that. So, I said, ‘Unnie, I go to church. I don’t do stuff like that.’”

Park Kwang Soo, angered at this anecdote, remarked that Gilgun’s senior was also a bad person who definitely had something to gain from the situation.
Meanwhile, Gilgun had previously exposed her former CEO for exploiting her to run his shady side business. Read more about it here.
