NBA YoungBoy Unfairly Treated By Feds, Says Akademiks

NBA YoungBoy has won over Akademiks‘ support and sympathy after the two recently linked up in Utah.

On Saturday (May 25), the internet personality revealed that he visited the Baton Rouge native and had the opportunity to understand what he is currently going through from up close.

“My prayers are with NBA Youngboy,” Ak wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “I went to grave digger mountain .. I sat with him talked with him .. argued with him ..

“This an artist and a man who been u unfairly isolated tortured and made out as an evil person he isn’t that. How Yalll got a case against him and he gotta live in a room for YEARS w/o resolution . He already beat 1 federal case [in July 2022].”

YoungBoy has been on house arrest in Utah since October 2021, after being indicted in his native state on charges of “felon in possession of a firearm.”

Last month, YoungBoy was charged with 63 counts relating to identity fraud, forgery, obtaining a prescription under false pretenses, possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, a pattern of unlawful activity and possession of a controlled substance.

In early May, KUTV reported that the controversial rapper had more charges added to his sheet, including possession of a firearm by a restricted person and two counts of obtaining a prescription without permission.

A few days later, FOX 8in New Orleans shared that YB’s bond was set at $100,000 during a court hearing. Additionally, his arraignment is scheduled for July.

The Louisiana spitter was arrested last month in connection to a prescription drug fraud ring in Utah.

According to the affidavit, his alleged scheme worked like this: “A suspect calls in a prescription, claiming the identity of a real doctor and using a fraudulent patient name and birthday, all for Promethazine with Codeine. Sometime after the prescriptions are called in, they are filled and picked up by [YoungBoy and/or people referred to as ‘Known Associates’ 1 and 2].”

The 24-year-old even allegedly impersonated a doctor during the scheme but raised suspicion when he used the word “axed” instead of “asked.”
