Mariah Carey is speaking out after the heartbreaking loss of her mother and sister.
Last month, the Obsessed singer revealed in a statement to People that in “a tragic turn of events” her mother Patricia and estranged sister Alison died separately on the same day. She told the outlet at the time:
“I feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed. I appreciate everyone’s love and support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time.”
So sad.

Since then, a friend of Alison’s has been speaking out about her and Mimi’s estranged relationship, but we haven’t heard much else from the pop star herself. Until now.
On Sunday, the Hero singer returned to Instagram with a video of her singing an acoustic version of her 2005 song It’s Like That. At the end of the clip, she says “We’ll see you soon, China,” referring to her upcoming shows in the East Asian country. And in her caption, she briefly opened up about how she’s been managing the last couple weeks amid her devastating losses:
“Back at work. It’s been a couple of rough weeks, but I appreciate everyone’s love and support so much and I can’t wait to see my fans in China & Brazil. Love you! ”
Poor Mariah! It looks like she’s just trying to keep herself busy with work. She does, however, look fabulous as ever.
Our hearts remain with her and the rest of the Carey family! Share your support in the comments down below.
