Sometimes, playing a lil’ too much can lead to a cuff to the head! That’s exactly what seemed to happen when a YouTuber attempted to run up on Kevin Gates.
Following the joke-gone-wrong, Gates posted a cryptic message on social media, seemingly in response to the failed interaction.
Here’s What Happened When A YouTuber Ran Into Kevin Gates
On August 15, YouTuber Wayon uploaded a nearly 10-minute video of him approaching the ‘Really Really’ rapper at a Topanga mall in California. He titled the video ‘Kevin Gates Attacked Me!’
It began with Wayon telling the artist — who appeared to be accompanied by a woman holding shopping bags — that he looks like Kevin Gates. The YouTuber repeated his statement a second time to the woman.
In a calm voice, Kevin interrupted, saying, “Look, stop playing with me and get the f**K out the door.” As the trio headed out the mall’s sliding doors, Wayon asked Gates to say, “d**k in that p***y.” In response, the video seemingly showed Kevin clapping Wayon on the back of his head.
The YouTuber cried out, holding the back of his head, saying, “Ah, Kevin Gates. What the f**k Kevin Gates? Come on.” But the rapper kept it pushing, seemingly heading towards a waiting car while Wayon complained.
“What the heck, Kevin? I didn’t appreciate that, Kevin. Kevin Gates just assaulted me, bro,” Wayon said. “…I just got punched by Kevin Gates, that’s low-key a dub. I’m not gon’ lie, I just got punched in the back of the head by Kevin Gates. Damn!”
As the clip continued, Wayon bragged about Gates allegedly putting his hands on him! He also clarified that he “wasn’t trolling” and was genuinely surprised at seeing Gates.

How The Rapper Reacted After The Video Circulated Online
As mentioned, Kevin recently took to his Instagram Stories to seemingly address the physical interaction with Wayon. Speaking in the first and third person, he spoke about being raised better and learning from mistakes, including how to approach folks.
“Don’t you never do no sh*t like that boy. I ain’t raise you to be like that, boy,” he said. “You just walk over ‘Hey, how you doing? I’m Kevin, I didn’t want anything, I just was coming to say hello. Simple and gangsta. That’s it, that’s all. Come on man.”
With a laugh, he added, “It’s all good, baby. Players f**k up too. Mistakes make us great. Learn from your mistakes. Don’t make ’em no more.”
