[K-Exclusive] Amber Liu Brings “No More Sad Songs” Down Under
Amber Liu performed her first ever solo headline shows Down Under, playing at the Roundhouse in Sydney on March 12th, then heading to Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane on March 14th, before wrapping up the Australian leg of the tour at Festival Hall in Melbourne on March 15th.
We were lucky enough to attend Amber’s Sydney show that opened with support act Jaguar Jonze.
Usually we aren’t graced with support acts when going to K-Pop concerts, but this time we were and it was an absolute highlight. Jaguar Jonze powered through her performance with unstoppable force. Talent seems to be in her bloodstream and it shows in her vibrant stage presence.
Cheers erupted when Amber burst onto the stage with immeasurable energy, bouncing from each side of the stage making sure to send her positive vibes out to her loud and excitable audience.
Amber spent some time talking to her fans about everything from her “No More Sad Songs” Tour to her time in Australia.
Here are the top 5 things we learned:
- She’s not our little Amber anymore. Being 31 now, she reminded us and proved that she has evolved from cute to sexy.
- She has as much energy as she did when she debuted in 2009. Tearing up the stage with effervescent spirit, barely taking a moment to rest – even when talking to her fans.
- She loves Australia. She had already thoroughly enjoyed exploring our country despite Sydney being the first stop on her tour. Although the only downside is the heat, she doesn’t deal with the warm weather as well as she’d hoped.
- The tracks from Amber’s album “No More Sad Songs” are the perfect compilation of songs to dance to like nobody is watching. Giving us complete teenage fantasy vibes, they allow us to unplug from the real world and give us permission to feel everything all at once.
- She is the definition of kind. Before introducing herself, she encouraged the audience to turn to the person next to them and say hello. Amber wanted her fans to have as much of a memorable night as she was about to have, and the best way to do that is to be surrounded by friends – regardless of how new those friends may be.
We can’t wait to see Amber Liu bring her energy and love back to Australia. It was a fantastic night to be a part of and it’s one that fans will treasure.
Thank you to Amber Liu and Live Nation for this opportunity.
