NewJeans and IU recently showed their support for impeachment protestors. As protests are ongoing in South Korea, many citizens have been showing their support by pre-paying for coffee and meals for the protestors. IU and NewJeans took a leaf out of their books and prepaid for hundreds of meals.
NewJeans announced their plan through their new Instagram account. Protestors can collect the free items by using the code “Bunnies.” They offered 110 portions of kimbap and 100 drinks at Oto Kimbap, 50 grain lattes, 50 americanos and 50 lemonades at Cuff Cafe, and a hundred bowls of samgyetang, and a hundred bowls of dumpling and beef soups.
As for IU, she offered 100 portions of rice cakes and 100 drinks at Wonjo Gongju Rice Cakes and 200 bowls of gukbap, a hundred portions of bread and a hundred drinks at Rolling Pin, as well as 100 various pastries at Bread Factory Sudan Red Bean Bread.
Protestors can collect them using the name “UAENA.” EDAM Entertainment stressed that people outside the fanclub could collect them too.
Both stars gained huge respect from netizens.

Because she’s the absolute bomb, IU is providing hot packs, warm food, and other support for protestors out in the cold temps, protecting democracy from loons like soon to be former president Yoon. https://t.co/1LBtHBw6nD

The protests have been ongoing all weekend and have not ceased despite the vote being passed for President Yoon to be impeached.
