The Boys Over Flower actress recently received the 30th KAIST Literary Award from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, one of the most reputed academic institutions in Korea. The actress shared the news with fans on social media on December 12.
Sharing a picture of the award certificate on her social media, Koo wrote that she received the 30th KAIST Literary Award on December 5, KST, for her essay, “My Neighborhood That Wasn’t Poor.” She added that due to “pressing national matters,” she delayed sharing the news and expressing her gratitude for the honor.
The actress also explained the background of her essay, which was a tribute to her hometown in Incheon and the love that it enriched her with.
I remember the brilliant moments when I was young, growing up in a small village in Incheon, and spending more than 10 years with my village community and family, sharing ‘Love.’ That’s why even now that I’m in my 40s, I still haven’t forgotten the love I had with my neighbors, who were like family to me at the time, and I completed an essay that contains my determination not to live my life with a poor heart.
