Channel A’s upcoming drama “Check in Hanyang” has released new glimpses of Bae In Hyuk’s character!
Set in the Joseon Dynasty, “Check in Hanyang” is a historical romance drama that depicts the growth and love stories of youths who join as “interns” at Yongcheonlu, the largest inn in Joseon.
Bae In Hyuk stars as Prince Lee Eun, the king’s son with great power. However, he hides his identity and joins Yongcheonlu under the name Lee Eun Ho. The drama will explore why he chooses to conceal his true identity and how he adjusts to life as a trainee at the academy while secretly living as the king’s son.
The newly released stills show the stark contrast between Lee Eun’s royal persona and his undercover identity, Lee Eun Ho. The images highlight the dramatic shift from his life in the palace to his new role as a trainee at Yongcheonlu, which resembles that of a hotelier.
The first still showcases the charisma of Prince Lee Eun. Born into royal blood, he must remain alert to survive the palace’s constant power struggles. His expressionless face conveys an intense, commanding presence.
In the next image, Lee Eun hides his identity while joining Yongcheonlu under the name Lee Eun Ho. Amid the commotion of his fellow trainees changing clothes, Lee Eun Ho stands apart, drawing all the attention. Unlike the stoic Prince Lee Eun, Lee Eun Ho openly shows his confusion in this new environment.
The final still shows Lee Eun Ho carefully attempting to sew, keenly aware of those around him. Having grown up as the king’s son, this is a new experience for him. His effort to adapt to Yongcheonlu, even taking on sewing, adds a humorous touch.
The production team praised Bae In Hyuk for his nuanced performance, capturing both the tense political struggles of Prince Lee Eun and the comedic challenges Lee Eun Ho faces while adjusting to life at Yongcheonlu.
The production team said, “Bae In Hyuk flawlessly portrays the contrasting roles of Prince Lee Eun and trainee Lee Eun Ho, making the drama more engaging. His detailed performance, already evident in the stills, will be even more impactful in the broadcast.” They added, “The palace power struggles and Lee Eun Ho’s adjustment to life at Yongcheonlu will offer a range of entertainment, so we ask viewers to look forward to it.”
“Check in Hanyang” will premiere on December 21 at 7:50 p.m. KST.
