The Amazing Spider-Man actor and his co-star Florence Pugh have been making the rounds to promote their new film We Live in Time… You know, the one that went viral last month because of THAT horse pic?? If you didn’t see, a still was released from the film showing Andrew and Florence’s characters on a date, riding a carousel together. And while it’s really cute, one of the horse’s faces on the merry-go-round totally stole the spotlight! See why (below):

The image sparked a hilarious flood of fan edits which had the internet in hysterics. The horse head in Godfather, the horse replacing the xenomorph in Alien 3, lots of classics. And Andrew and Florence definitely saw!

During an interview with the Associated Press over the weekend, the Hacksaw Ridge star recalled seeing the pic on social media and being taken aback by the “interesting choice,” but didn’t think anything would come of it. Florence claimed it wasn’t approved. Hmm. Andrew said that same day he went on a retreat with no phones for six days — and came back to a flood of messages:
“When I’m in the departure lounge coming back from wherever I was, I turn my phone on finally. And it’s just horse meme. I was wrong. People noticed it. And [Stephen] Colbert noticed and did a whole monologue on it. Honestly, I was crying.”
Florence chimed in to shout out some of her favorite versions of the pics, before Andrew named the one “where it’s like all of us have the horse face.” See (below):

He continued:
“Some of my favorite ones I have saved.”
The British actor then pulled out his phone to begin searching, before he quickly put the device away back in his pocket… So suspiciously! He said:
“Actually, I’m not going to open up my photos right now.”
Florence spotted the sketchy behavior immediately and asked, “What’s on your phone?” and he responded:
“Just lots of d**k pics.”
WHAT?! He clarified quickly:
“My own. Cut this out.”
OMG!
The pair busted out laughing, before the Midsommar star joked:
“I didn’t know you could do press like this. I didn’t know you could say something outrageous and be like, ‘Cut.’”
Ha! As we know, Miss Flo has been so careful with her own answers to questions in press junkets! But Andrew is really bringing out the carelessness! She joked about the peen photos:
“What’s worse is they’re next to your horse pics.”
And Andrew quipped:
“Yeah, it does look like the ratio is off.”
OMG! Florence couldn’t handle that one, laughing:
“Jesus Christ, Andrew.”
The 41-year-old hilariously responded, “What, you set me up!” At that point, the AP actually printed that one of their publicists was upset:
(A nearby publicist sighs audibly.)
Hahahahaha! Florence heard it, too — and decided Andrew would NOT be allowed to take this nonsense off the record:
“Did you just hear our publicists sigh? Please don’t cut this. Let him be punished. He’ll never do it again.”
But think again! Andrew responded:
“I will, that’s the problem. I’m insatiable when it comes to stupidity.”
