Jennifer Lopez plans to fly solo for a while! But what about Ben Affleck? Is he embracing singledom like his estranged wife?
Three months after the 55-year-old actress filed for divorce from her husband of only two years, a source told Us Weekly on Wednesday that she is not rushing into another relationship with anyone. Instead, she “wants to take some time to be single and find herself again.” The insider added:
“That’s the journey she’s on.”

And no, she is not just sitting around and waiting to get back together with Ben again, either! Another source insisted she does not want to rekindle things with the 52-year-old filmmaker. It’s done and over with! There is no third time’s the charm in this situation (for now)! The second insider also reiterated that J.Lo “doesn’t want to get into a relationship right away.” What can we say? She’s in her single-girl era and staying in it for a bit!
However, her loved ones do hope she finds someone again — not right now but one day! An Entertainment Tonight source said on Wednesday the I’m Real singer’s “friends and family are giving her time and space to move on, though they want to see her get out there again and finally get her happily ever after.” If that is what Jennifer wants, we hope she finds it, too!
Although Jennifer does not want to be with Ben romantically anymore, the first Us Weekly source shared that they are still in contact with each other for the sake of their kids. As you know, Jennifer shares 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony, while the Gone Girl star has 18-year-old Violet, 15-year-old Fin, and 12-year-old Samuel with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. For the children, they remain friendly! The insider said that “things are still amicable” between them, and they even “saw each other recently and are still talking.” Good for them! Divorces are incredibly hard, especially on kids. So, we’re glad Ben and Jennifer are making the effort to stay cordial.
The second source noted the two are “very involved when it comes to the kids.” What proves Jennifer and Ben are trying to be on good terms with each other for the children? The source claimed they may reunite during the holidays for their families! Whoa! Hopefully, they can keep their hands — and mouths — off each other during the next reunion…
Of course, it comes as no surprise Jennifer wants to stay single. She has been open about her disinterest in dating before. But as for Ben? Does he feel the same way? Not really. A source told Entertainment Tonight that “he’s open to” dating again – but has “other priorities that are more important.” So, it is not his top priority right now! However, if someone happens to come along that catches his eye, he may give it a shot! Wow! The same insider also backed what the Us report said, noting Ben and Jennifer have limited contact but are “doing well overall” amid the divorce:
“They’re focused on their families, work commitments and just moving forward.”
