Hurricane Chris & Slim Jxmmi Feud Erupts Over Super Bowl Rant

Hurricane Chris and Slim Jxmmi have gotten into a tense exchange after the Rae Sremmurd rapper took issue with Chris’ rant about next year’s Super Bowl halftime show.

In an angry video shared on Instagram on Monday (September 9), the “A Bay Bay” hitmaker accused organizers of disrespecting New Orleans by picking Kendrick Lamar to perform at Super Bowl LIX instead of hometown legend Lil Wayne, who had openly coveted the gig.

Chris, who recently aired similar frustrations with 50 Cent over his Humor & Harmony festival in Shreveport, also threatened violence against outsiders for what he sees as a pattern of culture vulture behavior.

“So now you n-ggas understand it, huh? Same shit that I was just saying 50 Cent did in Shreveport, now it’s happening in New Orleans on a bigger scale,” he said. “People like Master P come in on it, so now everybody understand? I just made this same fucking statement.”

The Louisana native added: “When you come to the South, y’all gotta show more respect than this. We got our own culture here. N-ggas coming down here laughing, playing games, thinking they just gonna use their money and take over everything.

“It ain’t going down like that. We going back to that old fucking law. You n-ggas stepping on turf gon’ do what you supposed to do, or you gon’ pack your shit up and get the fuck on.

“All that nice guy shit is out the window. Fuck being nice, fuck trying to cop deuces. I take back every nice word I said to you n-ggas. Get your fucking mind right or we gon’ make n-ggas get their mind right. How about that?”

Hurricane Chris’ menacing video clearly didn’t have the desired effect on Slim Jxmmi, who jumped into the comments section and wrote: “BRUH! AINT NO WAY YOU STILL REACHING! [crying face emoji].”

Keeping the same energy as his Super Bowl rant, Chris responded in threatening fashion: “@slimjxmmi mind yo business unless you wanna see these hands bruh on god what’s poppin.”

Jxmmi, who has taken up boxing in recent years, welcomed the fight challenge and jabbed back on his Instagram Stores: “I’ll slap the ‘A Bay Bay’ out this n-gga [100 emoji].”

Hurricane Chris isn’t the only rapper who is unhappy with Lil Wayne being snubbed for the Super Bowl LIX halftime show.

Nicki Minaj also launched into a heated rant on social media on Monday in which she accused JAY-Z, who helps organize the halftime show, of denying her Young Money mentor the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity over personal grievances.

“Denying a young black man what he rightfully put into this game for no other reason but your ego. Your hatred for BIRDMAN, Drake & Nicki got you punishing Lil Wayne?!?!!! LIL WAYNE!!!!!!!!!! THE GOAT?!!!!!!!!!!!” she wrote in part.

“Nola what’s good?!!!!!! Eminem stood firm on having 50Cent come out. A white man. Shit sad. House N-GGER TINGZ. but it’s GOOD FI DEM!!!!!!! No loyalty ? Welp. then n-ggaz will keep son’ing you!!!!!”

Cash Money capo Birdman also stepped into the debate and seemingly took aim at Hov, tweeting: These n-ggaz Pussi @NICKIMINAJ @Drake @LilTunechi YMCMB. I’m make these n-ggaz respek us on Gladys. Hatin shit 4real.”

JAY-Z has yet to address the backlash, but in a statement coinciding with the initial Super Bowl halftime show announcement, he praised Kendrick Lamar as “a once-in-a-generation artist.”

“His deep love for Hip Hop and culture informs his artistic vision,” Hov added. “He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.”
