On November 28, NewJeans held an emergency press conference to discuss their early contract termination. As of November 29, the group is no longer under their former HYBE label, ADOR.
At the press conference, NewJeans commented on topics such as their early contract termination fee, and whether or not they will keep the NewJeans name. The members also fielded questions from reporters.
The members’ answers to questions about their contract and future attracted plenty of attention from fans and netizens. But some of the members’ reactions have also become hot topics, such as Hyein‘s viral reaction to hearing HYBE founder Bang Si Hyuk‘s name.
At one point during the press conference, a reporter reiterated the sequence of events that led to NewJeans cutting ties with ADOR, such as sending a certified letter with eight requests to the company on November 13. On X (formerly Twitter), a video of NewJeans members reacting to this reporter has racked up over 345k views.
